RMCMA has organised a Webinar on 22.04.2026 (Wednesday) from 03.00 pm to 05.00 pm on very important topic “Need for Reducing Embodied Carbon from Ready Mixed Concrete”. The Webinar will be taken by Mr. Vijaykumar R. Kulkarni.

Mr. Vijaykumar R. Kulkarni was the Principal Consultant to RMCMA for nearly a decade. He was also, the Past President of Indian Concrete Institute. Presently he is involved in the work of Carbon Reduction from built Environment. 

The brief highlights of his presentations are as below.

The presentation briefly shows the adverse effects of climate change and underlines the urgent need of making sweeping reduction in the carbon footprints of construction.

It highlights the work of comparative evaluation of embodied carbon of high-rise and low-rise buildings. The work done by NRMCA, USA, and the ACI committee 323 are briefly described.

Finally, it is suggested that the Ready- Mixed Concrete producers need to evaluate the embodied carbon of concrete that they are producing and share the same with other stakeholders who need to find out the overall carbon footprints of construction.
